Sumas Library Coloring Contest
Friends of the Sumas Library has a new mascot, Fossil the Stegosaurus. Help us celebrate by participating in a community coloring contest, featuring original artwork by our very own Deanna and Heather Lambert!
While the event has now ended, you may still download the Sumas Library Coloring Contest page.
Be sure to check out all of the submissions sent in by our community members!
How it works
Earlier this month a Sumas Library mailer went out to the community (check your mailbox!). Color the dinosaur image on the mailer using your materials of choice. Deliver your submission to the Sumas Library by 5pm on April 6, 2024.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the winning submission within each age group. Winners will be announced here and on our Facebook page on April 13 at 12:30 pm.
Determining the winners
To determine the winners of each category, we reached out to a local artist, Pam Holladay of Iris Stream Studio!
Pam Holladay is an area fine artist and art educator. Her days are spent drawing, painting, and creating engaging books. Visual stories are her favorite form of artistic expression. Many ideas for her paintings originate from blending her love for reading and exploring nature. Her paintings and journals have been displayed in Brooklyn, NY, Jansen Art Gallery, Allied Arts, and the Seattle Center. She has also been published in international mixed-media publications. Most importantly, she likes to color outside the lines.
