About FOSL
Information about FOSL, including current leadership and bylaws.
Friends of the Sumas Library (FOSL) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit tasked with raising funds and advocating for the Sumas Library. The Friends of the Library program exists all across Whatcom County, with each group dedicated to its specific library branch.
FOSL is a community-focused group. We believe that the library represents an essential space that benefits everyone in the area, offering a community hub specifically to bring people together.
We typically meet on the first Monday of each month at the Sumas Library to discuss community & library news, as well as plan upcoming events. Membership is free, time is volunteered, and treats are encouraged!
Bylaws
Bylaws identify the internal rules and procedures followed by an organization. This often includes the purpose of the group, information about the board of directors, membership details, and other essential topics. You can find our current bylaws on the FOSL bylaws page.
Board of Directors
A nonprofit board of directors is a group of elected individuals who govern and oversee the organization. They set the mission, strategy, and goals while ensuring legal, ethical, and financial responsibility.
If you need to contact FOSL or it’s board members, the best way to do that is by sending an email to info@friendsofthesumaslibrary.org.
